New Year Taiko Drumming

On New Years day Niseko Discovery Holidays treated the village to a Taiko drumming show in front of our office.

Taiko (meaning ‘drum’ in Japanese) drumming is a traditional form of Japanese ensemble drumming. The performances can last between 5 and 25 minutes and typically follow a jo-ha-kyū (beginning, middle, end/rapid, sudden, urgent, and emergency) structure, which means the performance will speed up significantly towards the grand finale.

Always a spectacular performance, outside during winter it is definitely something to see.
